The Edo State Directorate of Educational Quality and Accountability (DEQA) focuses on raising standards and ensuring accountability in all levels of education, including public and private schools, from Early Childhood Care Education to Adult Education.

Committed to the continuous enhancement of educational standards, our focus is on raising the bar, improving compliance, and fostering robust system accountability across diverse educational sectors. This encompasses both Public and Private schools, ranging from Early Childhood Care Education to Basic Education, Special Education, Technical Vocational Education, and Adult Education. Through meticulous inspection processes, we vigilantly assess services that cater to learners of all ages, ensuring a comprehensive approach to quality education and skill development.

Inspections:

  • Inspecting Public and Private Schools; Early Childhood Education, Lower, and Upper Basic Education, Special Education, Technical Vocational Education, as well as Adult Education
  • Inspecting organizations and individuals providing learners education, training, and care.

    Compliance
    :
  • The growing number of private schools as well as vocational institutions in the state require more analytic and evaluative supervision. This is to ensure compliance with standards put in place by the Ministry of Education.

    Reporting:
  • Publishing reports of findings will be used to improve the overall quality of education and training
  • Informing the Ministry of Education and stakeholders about the effectiveness of these services.
